REFUSE DISPOSAL REMINDERS
The summer season is upon us and we wish to call your attention to some timely reminders regarding the Town of Hebron’s Trash Disposal.

BESTWAY CURBSIDE PICK-UP:      As always, wildlife getting into the trash receptacles and scattering garbage around is a problem.  We remind residents that trash should not be set out for pick up  prior to 7:00 AM Monday morning, and that empty containers should be removed from the right-of-way and stored on the property to which they belong, no later than dusk on the day of collection.
Bestway also has advised that they do not turn the toters over to dump them, but reach inside to grab bags.  Because of this, small bags have occasionally been left  in the bottom of the container.  Trash should be placed in large enough bags to be accessed by collectors reaching inside.
If you have extra recycled items, you may pick up a recycling sticker for an additional container of your own in the Select Board’s office during regular business hours.
Bestway holidays are posted on the refuse link on the town website and also on the bulletin board outside the office of the Select Board.  Pick up will be on Tuesday following a Monday holiday.
If you are a seasonal resident returning for the summer to a private road not serviced in the winter, please let us know that you are back so we may advise Bestway to proceed down your road again.
If you are not able to abide by these regulations, please make arrangements with someone to handle your trash for you, utilize the Bristol transfer station or take your trash with you.

BRISTOL TRANSFER STATION:   The Bristol Transfer station has announced new hours effective June 6, 2012.  Wednesday hours have been extended from  8:00 am to 6:00 pm..  Monday and Saturday hours remain the same, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
New stickers for 2012 are required and may be obtained at the Select Board’s office at no charge during regular business hours, 8:30 am to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday.  If you are unable to pick up the stickers, you may send a self-addressed stamp envelope to Town of Hebron, PO Box 188, Hebron, NH 03241.
Click here for information on the Town of Bristol Transfer Station and disposal costs for large items.

HEBRON RECYCLES!  Bestway has reported that 41% of the trash picked up weekly is recycles.

Thanks to our residents for your efforts to preserve our environment and keep Hebron quaint and pristine
