Town of Hebron and Hub66 Launch High Speed Internet Service
Hebron, NH - Hub66, a high-speed internet service provider, has partnered with the Towns of Hebron and Bristol NH, to create a resilient, fail-safe network and expand Internet accessibility throughout the area. With the support of the Northern Borders Regional Commission, Hub66 and Hebron will now be able to deliver cutting edge Internet service to businesses and residents featuring symmetrical speeds of up to 8 Gbps.
The project is made possible with private funding from Hub66, a Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) grant of $995k and ARPA funds from the Towns of Hebron and Bristol. Hub66 has already begun construction of a 25-mile fiber-optic network and will now be able to complete the Bristol network back up to Plymouth State University. It will also serve municipal and County locations and extend access to the University of New Hampshire’s IBEAM fiber network..
The focus of the project is to reinforce the existing network, creating the redundancy needed to foster greater broadband expansion in Hebron. Additionally developing the connectivity crucial for economic development, research and development, remote work and education opportunities. This project also provides the infrastructure needed for new business ventures at Tenney Advanced Science Center, which are in sports medicine, education, weather station monitoring, engineering, environmental research and advanced manufacturing. In addition, the network provides resiliency in the public safety services in Hebron and the region which need reliable broadband at all times for operations and communications.
The extension of this network, providing connectivity to homes and businesses along the middle mile route, was originally planned as a second phase. However, Hub66 privately funded the expansion to coincide with the middle mile construction enabling speed internet connectivity in a much shorter timeframe.

Research shows that the availability of broadband access has contributed to the establishment of more new businesses in rural areas. Moreover, areas with higher rates of broadband adoption show correlations with elevated median household incomes and reduced unemployment levels. The ability to connect to the internet is of paramount importance for many residents in rural America.
